Friday, August 31st

Stein Valley Interpretive Hike

8:30-4:00 Meet at the Lytton Info Centre. Hiking/walking shoes required. Transportation to the Stein trailhead by carpool. Guide/interpreter will accompany the hike and relate Aboriginal and Natural history along the ancient trail. Lunch provided but bring your water bottle.

Farmers Market - FruitsFestival Rafting Special - Thompson River

The legendary rapids of the Thompson River delight thousands of enthusiasts every summer. Visitors can enjoy a day rafting trip, either paddle or power rafting, from Spences Bridge to Lytton. Great fun that will bring a smile to your face! Reservations required.

Fee: $99 (regularly $159)
Time: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Saturday, Sunday, Monday
Location: Kumsheen Rafting Resort, 5 km east of Lytton on Highway #1

Farmers Market VegetablesFarmers Market

Local flowers, fruits, vegetables, home baking, clothing, crafts and other items are for sale by residence of the local area. A great place to shop, socialize and meet the people of Lytton.

Chicken Poop Bingo

This hilarious bingo game involves you, a chicken, a few chicken droppings, a bingo board (large one), and anticipation and tension. You'll love it.

Time: 11 am to 5 pm

Local Talent Show

A continuous stream of local talent performs most of the morning and afternoon. Some performances are so good you can view them on YouTube. Young and old will enjoy our local musicians and talent who sing, dance, and perform on the main stage.

Time: 10:00 am - 12:30 pm; 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm

Climbing Wall

Climbing WallThis popular attraction is back again to the River Festival. Imagine yourself climbing up steep cliffs of the Fraser Canyon as you ascend up the wall. Suitable for children of all ages!

Kids Kayaking Session in the Pool

Kids have the opportunity to paddle a kayak under the supervision of lifeguards and professional kayaker Braden Fandrich. Don't forget to bring your bathing suit and towel.

Fire Dancers

Fire DancersYou will be mesmerized and exhilarated by the spinning, twirling, dazzling Fire Dancers as they add magic to the night! This is one of the Festival's most popular events.

Street Dance

This is always one of the most popular festival events. Bring your street dancing shoes and let ‘er  go.

Time: 7-9pm & 9:30-11:30pm

Sunday, September 2nd

Two-Rivers Community Club Pancake Breakfast

The Lytton Two-Rivers Community Club is famous for its Pancake Breakfasts. The food is delicious, your hosts enjoyable, and the price very reasonable. A great way to start your day!

$5 per plate or $15 per family
Time: 8 am to 10:30 am
Location: Parish Hall (two and one-half blocks north of Festival site)

Pow Wow

Pow Wow PrincessYou won't want to miss this full day event organized by the local First Nation community. The heart-thumping sound of the Big Drums, hand drumming and rhythmic singing, along with movement and color of the fancy and traditional native dancers provide a memorable cultural experience. The Pow-Wow officially begins with the Grand Entry. All spectators are asked to rise as the flags and staffs of the host and visiting nations enter in a parade of color and design. Don't forget to bring your camera!

First Nations Artists & Artisans Displays

Creators of arrowheads, dip nets, carvings, basketry and many more artistic skills will demonstrate their art and display and sell their work.

Time: 12-4

Rock ClimbingWhile You are in Lytton.

  • Visit the Visitor's information Centre located in the Festival Area.
    • Open 9:00 am to 11 pm Saturday and Sunday
  • Visit the Museum. Lots of interesting artifacts, photos, and stories about old Lytton.
  • Hike the Stein River Valley. It's a Provincial Park with an ancient walking trail that winds its way up the valley beside a beautiful river. Details at the Info Center. Great for all ages. Located at the Festival Site.
  • Raft the legendary Thompson River. This is the river that made rafting in the west famous.
