Lytton Comes Alive on Labour Day Weekend

The town of Lytton comes alive on Labour Day Weekend –September 3, 4, 5 – when it hosts the second annual Lytton River Festival.

The family-oriented Festival is the community's way of sharing and celebrating two great rivers – the Thompson and Fraser.

The Interior Salish First Nations people have lived along these magnificent rivers for over 10,000 years and are an integral part of the River Festival. The rivers are integrated into their culture, dances, and rituals.

The addition of a First Nations Pow-Wow and gambling game Sla-Hal are new and add a full day of events. The Pow-Wow takes place on Sunday, September 4 th .

Four bands including Soulflight from Seattle will entertain on Saturday and Sunday. Admission to the Festival is free.

Monday hosts two raft races. The first is a children's home-made toy raft race and the second is a head-to-head raft race through the Thompson River's largest rapids in the Devil's Gorge. Thrills and spills are guaranteed.

Come to Lytton on September 3,4, & 5 th and be part of an event that celebrates the important role that two great rivers have played in Lytton's history and culture.

Come for a day or stay for three; you'll be glad you did.
